Sect War! - A Week of Nightmares special event

Sect War!

Friday the 6th of October 2006
Twelve noon start time.
Entry fee = $15

This event is an alternate tournament format that is unsanctionable.
This format is somewhat based on Bernie B's Clan Wars events from
years past. This event will run opposite the Last Chance Qualifier
during the North American Continental Championship weekend.

Laibon vs. Sabbat
and
Vampires vs. Hunters

Maximum participants = 20
8 Sabbat players
8 Laibon players
4 Imbued players

There will be 2 teams for each sect, made up of 4 players.

Each sect will have 4 players sit together and make the best 4
possible decks from the 4 starters and 18 boosters provided to them.
(4 LoB starters + 18 LoB boosters, or 4 Third Edition starters + 18
Third Edition Boosters) Collaborative deck building at its finest.

The Imbued will split 2 boxes of Nights of Reckoning to make their
best 4 possible decks. (18 boosters per player, as Nights of
Reckoning has no preconstructed starters.)

There will be 1 hour set aside for deck building.

This will be a 2 round plus final event.
Two players from each sect team will be on each table, with two
players from an opposing sect team on the table as well as an Imbued,
if available.

If all the Imbued decks finish below the top 2 Laibon and the top 2
Sabbat decks, a 4 player final will be conducted. Otherwise, the top
Imbued player goes to the finals with the top 2 Laibon and top 2
Sabbat players.

Prize structure:
Winning sect team receives 1 booster display box for their sect that
they will distribute as they see fit.
If an Imbued wins the finals, the Imbued team will split a Nights of
Reckoning box as they see fit.

Week of Nightmares
October 1st-5th

The Week of Nightmares is a traditional weeklong event leading up to the North American
Continental Championship. This year is no exception. Constant pickup games, Duffin drafts,
regular drafts, create-a-clan tournaments, and all manner of V:TES experiences have been known
to occur. The following events are scheduled / expected to occur during the week starting
Sunday the 1st of October.

Sunday
Atlanta Braves Baseball Game: October 1 vs. Houston - 1:05 PM
General arrivals, greetings, informal games.

Monday
Georgia Aquarium - group rate of $20.50 per adult if 15 or more go. Noon start. Normal price $22.75.

Tuesday
Underground Atlanta

Wednesday
World of Coca-Cola, noon, $9

Thursday
CNN Studio Tour, noon, $12.
